Marie-Lune Day-care Center first trusted the expertise of the Atmosphäre team in 2006. In this first project, we installed a bike path, a swing area, a sandbox and a sand dressed surface with an absorption system.
In January 2012, the headmistress contacted our team again about a project to redevelop the courtyard along the lines ofa split courtyard.
Management keeps in touch with our team for this long-term project over several years. Then, in November 2020, the director shares with us the problem of managing the courtyard in a zone in response to distancing. We plan a visit to walk the yard, take photos and identify areas.
In December, our team presented an initial concept proposal to Day-care Center Marie-Lune, based on the concept of an exploded courtyard.
This exploded courtyard concept aims to create targeted stations that encourage sharing. It also helps develop the notion of patience, waiting and sharing space. One of the beauties of developing stations is that they allow us to work on a project in phases .
What’s more, they keep to budgets and the sociological progression of the sector, while focusing on distinctive, playful equipment.
Multisport field area
Depending on our customer’s needs, we have chosen to offer two main textures. Synthetic turf with a recreational formula and resilient surface was chosen for the entire courtyard, while Matchwinner Velour sand dressed surface was selected for the multi-sports field and cycle path.
A ground-level water jet in the center of the multisport field makes the area even more versatile for hot summer days.
Cycle path zone
The sand dressed surface bike path allows children to move from zone to zone. It’s dotted with parking spaces, and features two bike ramps-discovered by Canadian Ramp Company. These ramps can be used to create a challenging circuit for learning to balance on a bike.
Classic play structure zones
This superb hybrid yard combines wooden structures from the Robinia collection with our popular Kompan equipment such as the Sputnik, Blazer and Spica jr .
Each structure is chosen for its ability to stimulate important developmental skills. Each zone stimulates upper-body strength, balance, the vestibular system, climbing, gliding and proprioception.
The refurbishment took place in the summer of 2021, much to the delight of the children and Day-care Center Marie-Lune management.
