On October 16 in Mercier, we inaugurated our largest Pumptrack Space in Quebec to date.
A crowd of wheeled sports enthusiasts (bikes, skateboards, scooters, BMX, roller skates…) awaited our arrival at Loiselle Park on a dull autumn afternoon. Music, snacks, marquees and City organizers welcomed the community for this very special inauguration. What’s more, we invited two pros from the Krusher BMX team to come and give a few on-track demonstrations. That’s all it took to fuel the joy and excitement of those present! After an initial performance by the pros, the circuit was already packed with children of all ages, honing their “pump” moves. The fun and festive atmosphere of the community was palpable, especially when the hosts decided to do a few races against the clock with volunteers.
We were treated to a rallying speech by the mayor and a presentation by the organization Défi Tête la Première to raise awareness of the importance of wearing a helmet.
Despite the uncertain weather, we were treated to a fun and motivating inauguration. Our team loves seeing so much happiness and excitement around our public spaces and playgrounds.
Thank you to the City of Mercier and to all the Merciers present for this wonderful moment!
