Dickie-Moore Park

Dickie-Moore Park

Montréal

A project carried out in collaboration with EXP.

Located in the heart of the Parc-Extension district, Dickie-Moore Park has been inaugurated and is now ready to make people happy!

Dotted with green spaces including a large grassy plain, as well as a rain garden contributing to the ecological management of run-off water, this park is intended to be an island of greenery where everyone can cool off and enjoy the warm season.

The park is also encircled by a colorful 350-foot-long mural, created by artist Carlito Dalceggio and the MU organization.

Tribute to a hockey legend

Named in honor of the Montreal Canadiens’ famous number 12, the park is a vibrant tribute to this Parc-Extension native.

Born in Montreal in 1931, Mr. Moore played for the Canadiens from 1951 to 1963, winning the Stanley Cup six times and taking part in the All-Star Game as many times.

He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1974 and had his number 12 jersey retired by the Canadiens in 2005. He died on December 19, 2015 at the age of 84.

Natural play in an urban environment

The play area, divided into two sections, has been carefully planned and filled with natural play structures from the Robinia range Robinia.

All structures are made from FSC®-certified Robinia wood, ensuring traceability of raw materials and a responsible supply chain, as well as being CSA-certified.

A long agility course has been custom-designed to optimize the use of park space while ensuring maximum play value per square foot! It also features the classic cuckoo’s nest swing, a favorite of young and old alike. Its design allows several children to swing together, while offering numerous positioning possibilities, encouraging collaboration and group play.

The highlight of the play area is the large Robinia tower with tube slide. Perched atop a mound and equipped with agility ropes for easy ascent, this tall, custom-built tower makes for a long, exhilarating descent!

Robinia maintenance program

To ensure your peace of mind and the longevity of your installations, Kompan has designed a maintenance program for all functional and structural elements of Robinia modules. The program also includes cleaning and paint touch-ups. To view the maintenance program, click here.
