The City of Quebec was looking to improve the recreational facilities in Saint-Pierre Park. The latter is at the heart of leisure activities in the Charlesbourg borough.
The Matchplay 2 multi-sports pitch with needle-punched sand dressed surface allows a wide range of users to practice different sports in a safe environment. It’s also ideal for hosting large gatherings.
Working in collaboration with landscape architects from the Aecom team, this project favored a surface with a high drainage capacity, safe, inviting and playful. The choice not to add predefined lines allows users to appropriate the space as they see fit. The four zones allow single or combined use to suit different activities. The surface texture of our sand dressed surface also allows animators to draw on it with chalk.
