10 solar-powered Nixiloo toilets for Laval parks accessible to all
As part of its Universal Accessibility Policy adopted in the fall of 2021, Ville de Laval wanted to enhance the experience in its parks by installing toilets accessible to all, even in locations without permanent buildings.
The aim is to provide sustainable, inclusive and environmentally-friendly sanitary facilities, while gradually replacing chemical toilets.
This initiative is part of the Climate Plan – Horizon 2035, which aims to reduce the municipal ecological footprint through concrete actions adapted to urban realities.
A green solution from Atmosphäre
To meet this need, Atmosphäre supplied and coordinated the installation of 10 Nixiloo ecological toilets – PMR model, a self-contained solution requiring neither water nor electricity.
Each unit runs onsolar energy, powering a forced ventilation system and interior lighting. This process ensures self-regulation of organic waste, without connection to municipal networks.
Why choose Nixiloo PRM?
– 100% autonomous and environmentally-friendly- Universally accessible (PRM-compliant model)
– Simplified maintenance: weekly cleaning and periodic oil changes
– Robust materials: vandal- and weather-resistant
Atmosphäre supported Ville de Laval every step of the way: model selection, delivery logistics and coordination of installation with municipal teams, to ensure harmonious, sustainable integration.
A concrete project to serve citizens
The addition of these 10 Nixiloo ecological toilets – PRM model allows Laval residents to take full advantage of green spaces, in a clean, accessible and environmentally-friendly environment.
Easy to maintain and solar-powered, the units offer reliable, consistent service throughout the season. They are now distributed across several parks in the region, ensuring optimum accessibility for users.
