On October 3, the Association québécoise du loisir municipal (AQLM ) held its annual Excellence Awards ceremony. As part of the 20th annual Conférence du loisir municipal (CALM), nine winners were presented with an Otium trophy, emblematic of the Prix Excellence awards, in recognition of the innovative and beneficial work of municipal leisure professionals.
Much to our team’s delight, Atmosphäre took top honors in the“Innovation and Development Support, Business Partner” category. The award was won for the installation in the town of Varennes of the very first new-generation modular Pumptrack in Quebec.
Quebec’s very first Pumptrack Space
Atmosphäre would like to extend its warmest thanks to the team at the City of Varennes, who believed in this innovative concept and had the audacity to be the first city to offer its citizens a Pumptrack Space. Always on the lookout for ideas to promote healthy lifestyles and universal accessibility, Mayor Damphousse, his councillors and the Recreation team believed in this new concept. The precursors of modular Pumptrack fever, it spread over the course of the summer.
Modular pumptracks: a worldwide fever
Installed in more than 40 countries and already very popular in Europe, Parkitect’s modular Pumptracks are closed courses made up of a succession of bumps and banked turns that allow you to pick up speed using your arms, legs and center of gravity. Recipients of a multitude of awards, including the prestigious ISPO GOLD AWARD for the best product in the industry, these circuits allow people of all ages, abilities and with virtually any wheeled sports equipment a comfortable, safe and fun ride. The enthusiasm for Pumptrack Spaces was evident right from the inauguration at the Parc de la Commune in Varennes, but also thanks to our rental offer and the holding of ephemeral events.
