All KOMPAN products undergo CO₂e calculations validated by Bureau Veritas. As an independent third party, this company validates the carbon footprint calculation method.
By measuring carbon emissions and collaborating with Bureau Veritas, KOMPAN now understands where the primary environmental impact of its operations lies.
About 80% of their carbon emissions came from the raw materials used in the production of their playground and fitness equipment.

KOMPAN minimizes its environmental impact wherever possible; it designs products to be durable and repairable, selects better materials, and documents its decisions with complete transparency.
Since 2004, playground components have been manufactured as standard using more than 95% post-consumer recycled waste in all colors. This standard allows us to offer complete playgrounds featuring Made Green or Born Green products.
Made Green or Born Green
The Made Green products are made from post-consumer recycled materials, such as marine debris (fishing nets) from the maritime industry, used textiles, food packaging waste, and used plastic bags.
The Born Green products are made from natural building materials, including hardwoods such as Robinia wood sourced from responsibly managed forests. Robinia wood is highly durable, requires no chemical preservatives, and can be FSC®-certified.

Recycled and Recyclable Materials
KOMPAN equipment is not only made from recycled raw materials or natural materials. It is also designed, whenever possible, to be easily disassembled and recycled at the end of its long service life on playgrounds. A total of 99.8% of KOMPAN products contain recyclable materials.

CircularHDPE Colored Panels
CircularHDPE colored panels are made from more than 95% post-consumer recycled waste. The remainder consists of color pigments and UV protection. The teal version, meanwhile , is made from marine debris, such as old fishing nets and ropes.

TexMade™posts are made from more than 95% post-consumer recycled textile and plastic waste.

Recycled platforms and steps
The platforms are made from 75% post-consumer recycled waste. New shapes and steps are added on an ongoing basis.

Corocord rope tempered with CircularYarn™
The ropes are made of six-strand galvanized steel wires and a steel core, making them virtually indestructible. Each strand is securely coated with CircularYarn—made from more than 95% post-consumer recycled materials in a variety of colors—which is fused to each strand individually, making the ropes extremely resistant to wear and vandalism.

Rotomolded components
The colored rotomolded components are made from 33% post-consumer recycled waste. The teal version, meanwhile , is made from 25% to 33% marine debris, such as old fishing nets and ropes.

Bloqx™ Panels
Bloqx™ panels are made from 75% post-consumer recycled waste in all colors. The teal version, meanwhile, is made from ocean waste sourced from the maritime industry, such as old fishing nets and ropes.

Robinia wood
Robinia wood is a very strong and durable material with a very high natural oil content. Playgrounds made of robinia wood are sturdy, require almost no maintenance, and will last for many years. KOMPAN Robinia products are also FSC®-certified.
