The result of a long-standing collaboration between Boutons d’Or day-care center and the Atmosphäre team, this project was begun in 2014 at the Saint-Gédéon facility.
This first phase consisted in creating a custom-made sandbox, hugging one of the corners of the courtyard, and integrating an existing tree as a source of shade.
A second, larger phase began in 2019, this time at the day-care’s brand-new facility in Saint-Georges. The entire layout of the courtyard was reviewed, and a zoned concept developed. The playground features :
- a modulated toddler area, featuring a custom-made sandbox with plenty of shade
- a cycling zone, allowing children to design their own track, and even cool off around an inground water jet for recreational surfaces
- a motricity zone, containing two wooden play structures for climbing, balancing and suspension. These activities appeal to children’s developmental abilities, while providing a stimulating and safe environment.
A third phase was completed, once again in Saint-Gédéon, in 2021. A fourth phase will soon see the light of day at the Boutons d’Or daycare center in Saint-Ludger.
