In collaboration with KAP, the Ville de L’Assomption has developed a distinctive concept to make the Ecological Park a playful, sustainable and accessible place.
Atmosphäre supported the municipality in the project to create an eco-responsible playground, made from post-consumer recycled materials and designed to reduce the project’s carbon footprint.
An eco-responsible and inclusive project that combines nature, play and accessibility
Kompan equipment has been chosen for its durability and environmental performance. Each module comes from a production process validated by Bureau Veritas, guaranteeing the transparency of manufacturing data and the measured reduction of CO₂ emissions.
This approach is based on a clear desire to offer a play area in harmony with the natural environment, while encouraging the participation of all children, whatever their abilities.
The Giant Sensoriel: an immersive experience
The main area, for children aged 5 to 12, is dominated by the Giant Sensoriel, an eye-catching structure with a sleek silhouette and bright colors.
Its open towers, translucent panels and climbing course offer a unique playful and visual experience, where every child can climb, observe and interact with his or her peers.
The game combines physical challenge and sensory stimulation, while blending naturally into the park’s wooded landscape. It evokes the sensation of playing in the surrounding trees – an invitation to explore and soar.
An inclusive area for children aged 2 to 5
Nearby, a second area is entirely dedicated to toddlers.
The ramped structure, accessible to children with reduced mobility, encourages free and inclusive play. Its musical elements, awakening panels and open circulation areas encourage cooperation and discovery.
This 2-5 year-old area offers a safe, stimulating environment that is well suited to early learning about team play.
An inclusive swing area
The site also includes a complete swing area, allowing everyone to enjoy the pleasure of movement.
The layout includes standard seats, baby seats, two ADA seats and a parent-child seat, creating an intergenerational space where young and old can share a bonding moment.
A sustainable, unifying space
The Parc Écologique de L’Assomption illustrates how responsible and inclusive design can transform a public space into a true meeting place.
Families find age-appropriate zones, children develop their skills through active play, and the community benefits from a green, safe and inspiring site.
With this project, Atmosphäre demonstrates that it is possible to combine design, sustainability and inclusion to create environments where it’s good to play and grow.
