FAQ

The sand that floods the fibers is the key. If you try to cut the material with a knife, for example, it feels like you're cutting through sand. This makes it very difficult to cause damage. The sand contained in the fibers ensures that there is little oxygen in them, thus preventing any fire from spreading. Sand is also a key factor in preventing graffiti damage, since spray paint does not reach the carpet fibers. Simply sweep away the sand and the surface will look as if it has never been the target of graffiti. What's more, in the event of extreme vandalism, the damaged section can be easily and cost-effectively replaced.

In addition to the reasons listed above, it also offers the advantage of protecting the fibers while allowing very rapid drainage. Sand therefore helps to prolong the life of the playing surface and increase its useful life from spring through to early winter.

It is impossible to establish an exact lifetime. However, with regular maintenance, we estimate a life of more than 20 years. This European product has now been installed for over 25 years and is well known and appreciated by all.

The sand, which is swept into the carpet fibers, reaches a weight of 22kg per m2, enough to hold it in place without the need for gluing. The material is also tensioned and fixed to the edges.

Incidents of burns are rare, due to the sand on the surface. In fact, burns are more likely to occur on rubber flooring, dry floors or tarred surfaces.

Sanded carpet can be installed anywhere for practical purposes. It adheres to any type of surface, provided it is level, porous and firm. Our technical services can render your surface as such by adding stone or a levelling material.
