New-generation, solar-powered dry toilets

Nixiloo ecological toilets revolutionize public outdoor sanitation. Using a forced ventilation system powered entirely by solar energy, these solar dry toilets operate without water, electricity, sewage or chemicals.

This ingenious process ensures optimum hygiene and eliminates unpleasant odors, making Nixiloo the ideal choice for parks, beaches, public gardens, golf courses and much more.

Features of Nixiloo public toilets

Autonomy and sustainability

  • Solar ventilation system: Uses solar energy to create a continuous stream of air, evaporating liquids and drying out solids, ensuring optimum hygiene.
  • Robust materials: Designed in galvanized and stainless steel, with an HDPE polyethylene bowl, these toilets offer exceptional durability.
  • Waste separation: Separates liquids from solids by gravity, avoiding maceration and unpleasant odors.

Accessibility and comfort

  • Accessibility standards: Models meeting ISO 21542 standards, facilitating access for people with reduced mobility and families with young children.
  • Simplified installation: no need to pour concrete, quick installation with no need for mains connections, ideal for remote locations.

Advantages of Nixiloo permanent ecological toilets

FAQ

Nixiloo toilets work without water or connected electricity. Thanks to a solar panel, a ventilation system evacuates odors and dries solids. Their modern design and durable construction make them an ideal ecological and autonomous solution for public spaces.

The solar panel powers a fan that creates air circulation in the cabin. This speeds up the drying of solids and removes odors through a chimney. Solar energy is also used to illuminate the cabin with LED lights.

The composite tank can hold up to 1100 liters of liquids and 46 liters of solids, depending on the model. Emptying frequency depends on traffic levels and type of collection (manual or pump truck).

The structure is made of galvanized steel with a baked-on paint finish for optimum strength. The aluminum floor won't rust, the bowl is made of HDPE polyethylene and the stainless steel hardware is vandal-proof.

No, Nixiloo toilets are hermetically sealed self-contained systems with no influent discharge. They are therefore not subject to NSF/ANSI 41 certification, nor to chapter Q-2, r. 22 of the Ministère de l'Environnement. Nor are they subject to CSA standard A2.77.

Below 0°C, materials freeze, slowing down evaporation and drying. The fan is paused during this period. An inspection and draining are recommended before winter.

Maintenance includes regular oil changes, inspection of components and cleaning of ventilation systems. Thorough annual maintenance is recommended to ensure proper operation.

Yes, the solar panel works even in low light conditions. However, a well-exposed location optimizes battery recharging and fan operation.

Two methods are available: - By pump truck: liquids are extracted via an external access and solids are vacuumed after removal from the bowl. - By manual collection: a biocompostable bag collects the solids and can be transported in a closed bucket.

With proper maintenance, service life exceeds 15 years thanks to resistant materials and robust design.

The reinforced structure resists physical impact. Locking and closure systems are designed to limit breakage, and steel surfaces facilitate graffiti removal.

Costs include periodic maintenance and emptying. Separation of liquids and solids means more economical management than a traditional toilet. Annual pumping combined with inspection is recommended.

Nixiloo stands out for its efficient drying of solids and evaporation of liquids via a solar-powered fan. Its robust design and odor management surpass many competing solutions.
