A unique playground in Ahuntsic-Cartierville
In collaboration with landscape architect Ysabelle Filiatreault, Atmosphäre transformed the playground at Parc Avila-Vidal into a playful and inviting space, perfectly adapted to the needs of the local community.
A citizen driven project for a dynamic park
Citizen consultation for a made-to-measure playground
The refurbishment of Parc Avila-Vidal began with a citizen consultation, reflecting the needs and desires of the community. Among the most recurrent requests were a linear playground, rope playgrounds, a mounded playground, an outdoor fitness area, street furniture, a water playground, a stone auditorium and a volleyball court.
Collaboration with Kompan Design Studio
Based on the landscape architect’s initial sketches, Kompan Design Studio (KDS) designed Ahuntsic-Cartierville’s first bespoke rope playgrounds. Like Atmosphäre, Kompan Design Studio sees each playground as a unique story to tell. The KDS approach is based on a deep understanding of the project’s vision, enabling creative ideas to be translated into captivating, safe and sustainable play structures. 
Thanks to this collaboration, citizens’ requests were integrated into an innovative concept, maximizing the use of available space while blending perfectly with the environment.
Captivating installations for all ages
A zip line for adventure and socialization
The linear play area facilitated the integration of a zip line, which quickly became one of the park’s main attractions. 
Always in action, this structure attracts children of all ages, offering an opportunity toface their fears, challenge each other, and socialize while waiting for their turn.
Linear rope playgrounds for constant challenges
The large rope playgrounds, accessible from all angles, offer an irresistible linear challenge: crossing without touching the ground! This playful structure encourages children to excel, while promoting social interaction.
An inclusive and safe fitness area
Outdoor Street Workout for all levels
The park’s fitness area features a variety of Street Workout structures, designed to accommodate users of all levels. This outdoor course offers outdoor exercise in a safe, inclusive and accessible environment.
Harmonious, sustainable development
An accessible park for schoolchildren
Located right next to an elementary school, Parc Avila-Vidal is a space accessible to students without them even having to cross the street, promoting their safety and access to quality recreational spaces.
